Ginger Ann Kruse, 60, of Elkport, died Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Central Community Hospital, Elkader, after a brief illness. She was born February 27, 1956, to Duane Gage and Dorothy (Thomas) Shippy-Gage in Wadena, Iowa.
Ginger graduated from Central Community High School in 1974. She was united in marriage to Robert Kruse on October 26, 1974.
Two children were born to this union. Ginger had previously worked at Landís End in Elkader and the U.S. Postal Office in Littleport until the flood of 1999. She even had a brief stint in recent years as the Central football cheerleading coach. Ginger enjoyed reading, genealogy, spending time with family, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Green Bay Packers.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Bob; two children, Shawn (Jolene) Kruse of Lansing and Kerra Kruse of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Austin and Carter Kruse of Lansing; six siblings, Lorraine (Art) Livingston of Waterloo, Sharon (Skip) Crawford of Waterloo, Gloria (Chuck) DeCook of Guttenberg, Donny (Sandra) Shippy of Waterloo, Gary (Carol) Shippy of Sumner, and Kenny (Sonya) Shippy of Waterloo; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and her faithful Pomeranian Brownie.
Ginger was preceded in death by her parents; and nephews Ron Livingston and Donnie DeCook.
